Lorentz contraction refers to the phenomenon whereby the length of an object moving at velocities approaching the speed of light appears shortened along the direction of motion from the perspective of a stationary observer. The contracted length L can be described by the equation L = L1 * sqrt(1 - (v/c)^2), where L is the observed length, L1 is the proper length measured when the object is at rest, v is the velocity of the object, and c is the speed of light, approximately 300,000 km/sec.

For example, considering the Eiffel Tower, which measures approximately 320 meters in its rest state: as it approaches relativistic speeds, its apparent length diminishes significantly from the viewpoint of an observer at rest, similar to how it appears on the display screen in our simulation. The program will additionally provide accurate data reflecting these relativistic effects.

Furthermore, time dilation occurs such that time measured within the moving frame appears to pass more slowly relative to a stationary observer. Consequently, if the Eiffel Tower were to travel at 95% of the speed of light for one year (according to its own clock), the elapsed time on Earth would be approximately 3.2 years. During this period, its length would reduce to around 100 meters.

Traveling into the future can be conceptually achieved through high-speed space travel. By accelerating a spacecraft to velocities between 1 and 5 G—for instance, using continuous propulsion—it becomes possible for onboard occupants to experience only a few years, while multiple decades or even centuries pass on Earth due to relativistic effects.
